Our recent mission trip to El Salvador in December of 2023 was eye-opening and heart-wrenching. It’s hard to put into words the mix of emotions we experienced. Being back home, the sadness and frustration lingers, knowing there’s so much more we could do, yet feeling the enormity of the challenges. Even still there are sweet memories of those we encountered and hope.
For my children, it was a profound experience. They formed deep connections and friendships, and I could see their compassion for the struggles of the people they met. But amidst the sadness, there was also joy - in serving, in feeding the impoverished, in playing with the children in orphanages. It’s clear that even small acts of kindness and support can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.”
We are fundraising for our children’s means of getting to El Salvador and contribution toward materials to build a home for a family in need. This is a return mission trip this summer for them to further their efforts with His Hands His Feet and Sus Hijos. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
