Generative Shared Intellegence

From Jonathan Diamond

I'm trying to raise money for a neural processing unit and a more powerful computer to speed up development and enable me to pursue other forms of media for my AI model.

I have been on somewhat of a sabbatical for the past few years studying statistical analysis and Machine Learning. My first Machine Learning Model was a modest data set of about 100 words and the letters of the alphabet. Using both text and audio clips I was able to train my model to recognize words form the audio recordings with a 100% success rate. This included words not supplied in the training dataset.

My most recent model is far more ambitious. I am using EEG data recorded while listing to audio and a recording of that audio as my input and output respectively. I have had some success already with error rates considerably lower than that which I had anticipated. I am confident that I will capture clear audio from EEG data that sounds as if I used a quality microphone.

OK but, why do you want to help me reach my goal?

We could start by talking about everyone's duty to make socially responsible contributions to the emerging field of philanthropic endeavor. You are probably right, that topic is beyond the scope of this post. Moving right along then...

There are substantial therapeutic applications to consider.
For example, this technology has the potential to enable stroke victims and people in a state of comatose to provide vital information to caregivers. A service which may otherwise be unavailable. Amazingly this will be possible using equipment already in use at just about every medical facility in existence today. I, of course, am committed to ensuring any viable medical application is accessible for both treatment and research.

There is something else though, I contend that you really want to help me because Chat GPT-n and the LLM Borg conglomerate has already secured a stronghold as creative influencers in our culture. Laying to waste the long held belief that creative resources would always have a safe haven in an automated economy. The need for such creativity in our economy at present seems to be the only casualty of machine learning. I will let you decide if this was irony or a brilliant assimilation pitch by The Commissioned.™ I am a proponent of Machine learning and encourage the continues use and development of these awesome tools. However, I am also encouraging the proactive mitigation of creative atrophy by providing tools to offset strong economic incentives using the same powerful technology.

I do not want to wake up in a dystopic future Neuro-Linked ™ to Elon Musk's brain farm wandering aimlessly stifled by the disappearance of an outlet for my creativity. That has been my motivation for GSI. The goal of generative-shared-intelligence is to create a rich media expression using an EEG and your creativity to produce the output. Unlike text-to-art and other forms of Generative Machine Learning "apps" my application will generate content that is identified and extracted from the user. Or, in one way or another a learning experience that requires you to adapt your thoughts in order to achieve your end goal.

The process I am developing will allow users to immediately see what happens when they flex their eyebrows while squeezing their hands vigorously. Armed with this crucial information they will eventually know exactly how much "mental" effort to exert in their hands and if it is in fact a reliable means of controlling the creative force awakening within. This immediate feedback loop will help everyone using the application develop their creative faculties. The goal is not to create an algorithm that makes art. The real output is an objective perspective to an otherwise fairly abstract and loosely defined mode of operating your mind. With each regression or enhancement of the media rendered you are receiving a "reward/punishment" in the form of your rendered media and how it has progressed since the previous iteration.

This will allow you to hone your own creativity with the added benefit of a potentially beautiful form of artistic expression for your effort. Unfortunately, beauty will always be in the eye of the beholder, but isn't that really what makes the human factor so important in our world to begin with?

All donations of $100 will receive a one-year subscription to the service when it is ready to launch and the opportunity to be a beta tester. A bit of small print on that... In the event the service fee schedule does not translate to a one-year subscription a similar share of credit, or opportunities to enhance creativity using the end product, will be supplied so that you will get as much use of it as one could reasonably make in one-year.
